Imagine We Were Human is a compact, literary collection of 12 nano-games that investigate how people connect, drift apart, and carry one another across space, cultures, and time. Each piece presents a distinct voice, design, and mode of storytelling, yet all cling to a shared curiosity about what makes us human in moments of meeting and separation.

Notable experiences in the lineup include:

• In Time, On Distance — a series of speed-date conversations where two people try to bridge distance and meaning in rapid exchanges.
• MND Anatomy — a mind-bending night for Amari Mallory, explored through his internal debrief after a dinner date.
• Seconds Between Summer — a dual-screen swimming game that moves with you from moment to moment, unravelling truths scattered in the waves and revealing how a year can alter a connection.
• Liminal Strangers — a game-poem about two people who brush past one another, uncovering hidden threads that tie strangers together.
• Within Rotation — expanded exclusively for this compilation; meet 16 strangers and listen to their conversations imagined through a whimsical gumball-machine lens.

The collection pushes past conventional design boundaries with simple mechanics that illuminate rich narratives and hand-crafted visuals. From hugging lost loves to escaping familial nightmares, from ending deep relationships to reliving first dates, and from reminiscing on old friendships to embracing chance encounters, each game becomes a meditative study on what it means to be human.

The project is often described as “Coffee Break Games.” It offers two complementary modes:

• Nine text-heavy stories with branching paths, subtle interactions, or genre-bending gameplay designed for 30 minutes or less.
• Three vignette breaks — five-minute game poems built around a single, repeatable mechanic.

This mosaic of micro-games is designed to be experienced in short sessions yet linger in memory, inviting you to pause, reflect, and feel the threads that connect us all—no matter how near or far we are.
