Last Ascent description

Last Ascent

Last Ascent blends psychological horror with strategic trading and survival mechanics. You inhabit a single character trapped in a three‑story abandoned office building, fighting the crushing grip of schizophrenia as night settles in. The world you inhabit is unstable, and every choice pushes you between perception and paranoia.

By day you start within the desolate offices. When night falls, you dive into the dark corners of the internet from a cramped desk computer, ordering and brokering illegal goods and delivering them to the rooftop via drone. Expect over 60 different items, each carrying its own rarity and price. The market is alive: a dynamic Buy and Sell interface shows buyers, sellers, and shifting prices. Your profits hinge on careful timing, risk assessment, and the ever‑changing mix of demand and supply.

The protagonist’s illness twists every interaction: the screen grows harder to read, colors blur, and voices gnaw at the edges of your focus. To steady yourself, you can order medication through a drug ordering app. Meds may stabilize your trading, but they also bring side effects that can blur judgment or worsen outcomes. Balancing mental state with market opportunity becomes the central anxiety of each cycle.

Danger also stalks the building. Some deals draw rival figures who dispatch hostile forces intent on sabotaging power or even assassinating you. Your vigilance matters: monitor the CCTV to detect intruders and keep the lights on. If power is sabotaged, you must locate and refuel three generators scattered on the lowest floor to keep the operation alive.

Each night, the Dark Web dealings echo into the waking world. The money you earn funds medicine and survival, but the line between reality and delusion grows thinner. Emails from your psychiatrist arrive with guidance and moral choices that shape your path. And as your online actions echo through the real world, blood‑hungry killers begin to converge on the building. Which threats are real, and which are phantoms?

Last Ascent asks a haunting question: is the danger inside your head, or waiting just beyond the door? Survive, but above all, hold on to reality as you navigate markets, medications, and a building that may collapse beneath your grip.
