Body of Work description

Body of Work is a spooky, cosy museum-curation experience that invites you to slow down and listen. You play as Ellis, the new caretaker of The Widow’s Cabinet, where unboxing, cleaning, and arranging delicate objects gradually reveal the stories held by the space and its visitors. As you tend the collection, you live with the gallery and begin to learn about the people who keep returning, their relationships, and the quiet mysteries that bind them to the space.

Gameplay centers on ritual and embodied action. Curate the museum by placing furniture and antiques, then clean, combine, and arrange items to shape the atmosphere. You will meet regular visitors, hear about their experiences and connections, and watch how objects and people interact over time. Rituals and séances invite you to participate in a process of interpretation, letting meaning emerge from the interplay between space, objects, and the inhabitants who inhabit it with you.

Progress unfolds as you shape your ideal museum. The answers you uncover come not from grand reveals, but from small interactions—how a display responds to a visitor, how a room’s arrangement changes a memory, how a relationship changes when an object is moved to a new place. Each character offers unique perspectives on who they are, and their stories deepen as the space you curate becomes their shared stage.

The tone is spooky without horror—cosy, quiet, and atmospheric. It is a low-pressure, non-competitive experience focused on storytelling, mood, and interpretation. The game invites reflection and introspection, rewarding careful attention, patient immersion, and thoughtful interpretation over fast action.

Art and perspective reinforce the mood: expect 2D hand-drawn visuals rendered in a 3/4 perspective and a warm, muted color palette that invites calm contemplation. The world feels intimate, as if you are stepping into a living archive where objects carry memory and visitors carry secrets.

Currently in development, Body of Work evolves with its stories and systems. Horned Llama, an Australian-Swedish studio, leads the project with a focus on engaging, thoughtful player experiences and a willingness to refine its craft as the game grows.
