A Deck Full of Hex description

Freyline

Freyline is a roguelike deckbuilder RPG set in the fantasy realm of Leodin, named after the titular maiden. A mysterious spell has swept across all beings, bending them toward lust. The chaste orders of Leo and Vesper find this a nuisance, while Battle Maiden Freyline is sent west to close the rift and put an end to the rampant debauchery. You guide the hero by building a deck, choosing paths, and surviving a series of perilous encounters where victory can come through brutal damage or by overwhelming foes with arousal and corruption—but both paths carry consequences.

  • Core Gameplay: Card-based combat inspired by modern roguelike deckbuilders. Each battle is a strategic moment of sequencing, telegraphed enemy intents, and careful resource management.
  • Two Parallel Victory Conditions: Win by reducing an opponent’s HP to zero, or seal victory through arousal that disrupts enemies’ control. Both paths demand different tactics and risk tolerance.
  • Resource Management: Balance HP, arousal, energy, and card draw while tracking long-term corruption and its effects on your deck and choices.
  • Corruption, Choice, and Consequence: Power always costs something. As corruption spreads, new cards, events, and routes unlock, opening doors that were previously shut. Lean too far in either direction and your run reshapes itself around your decisions, often irreversibly.
  • Narrative Arcs: Thematic motifs of control, possession, and temptation recur across events, with purity and corruption guiding how encounters unfold and which endings reveal themselves.

Features: Procedurally generated runs with branching paths, a growing card pool supporting multiple playstyles, and distinct enemy archetypes with unique weaknesses. Encounter secrets, cursed twists, and optional events that grant advantages or carry lasting consequences. There are optional visual filters to reduce explicit imagery, making the experience accessible to a broader audience.

Freyline emphasizes high replayability with short, intense runs and multiple endings (two main conclusions, shaped by your choices). Every session invites a different strategy as you balance reckless momentum against calculated restraint, chasing the satisfying thrill of a well-broken build or a hard-won, disciplined run.
