Compound Interest description
Compound Interest
In a market gone dark, the financial district is a maze of diesel fumes and flickering neon. Networks are down, towers dim, and only the sharpest operators survive. You’ve got three thugs, five bucks, and a run-down hideout. Build your crew, take on high-stakes jobs, and carve out your piece of the city—or watch it crumble.
Start and Staging
Your hideout is base camp. From here, sift through incoming job offers, check your roster, and head into the streets. Jobs appear throughout the day—collection runs to pressure local businesses, illicit exchanges to move product, or riskier operations with bigger payouts.
Assemble a crew of up to four operatives per job. Sending wounded or demotivated members means trouble down the line. Navigation uses the arrow keys, confirm with Space or Enter, and Shift + number keys switch between toolbar locations.
Gear Up
Fists won’t last in this city. Visit the Hardware Store for basic tools—bats, pipes, or crowbars—or hit the Black Market for higher-damage gear. Tools wear out with use, so keep your crew equipped and ready. Each operative can carry up to six items—plan your loadout before you head out.
Stay Alive
Health doesn’t rebound on its own. The Clinic patches up your crew, but at a cost. A beaten team is a liability—keep them healthy or leave them behind when the worst hits.
Loyalty and Pay
Your crew expects pay. Weekly wages bite out of your balance—two dollars per head, minimum. Pay well and loyalty climbs. Underpay and motivation drops; hit zero and they walk. Good assignments boost morale; poor calls drain it.
Build Your Reputation
Every job reshapes the city’s web of influence. Align with community interests and doors open—new recruits, better tips. Cross the wrong people and heat rises. The higher the heat, the tougher the jobs—and the more attention you attract from authorities.
Story Events
Mornings bring more than routine work: territory disputes, rival stash houses, witnesses needing handling, and recruits seeking to join. These events demand more but define who you become in Compound Interest.
The Grind
The city runs on a clock. Shops open at eight, close at eight. Jobs stop after ten, then reset at dawn. Build your capital, expand your crew, and equip them for the battles ahead. Compound Interest doesn’t forgive the unprepared.
Tips
- Don’t send the whole crew on risky jobs—keep reserves for the unexpected.
- Tools are investments. A well-equipped operative survives longer and earns more.
- Watch motivation closely. A disloyal member leaving mid-week can derail plans.
