Ascension Act description

Ascension Act

Ascension Act challenges you with a unique set of puzzles that hinge on split attention. The central mechanic triggers screen duplication at key moments, creating mirrored copies of your character. Your task is to navigate the level while directing all copies toward the exit, turning multitasking into the main obstacle and the key to progress.

The puzzles span a variety of types, but all share a common thread: you must think across multiple perspectives at once. You will plan routes, synchronize actions, and exploit the duplication in ways that reveal new paths and solutions. Mastery comes from anticipating when the world will split and from coordinating each copy's movement in tandem to advance.

In addition to the core duplication mechanic, there are small, incidental controls: you can be pushed around by other objects or characters, and you can jump. At present, these are the only active mechanics in the demo, keeping focus on the primary split-attention challenge rather than a broad toolbox of tricks.

Content in this early build includes two demo levels. Each level emphasizes a different facet of the split-attention puzzle, offering distinct pacing, layouts, and opportunities to experiment with simultaneous control. Neither level is a trivial walkthrough; both demand careful planning and precise execution to reach the endpoint.

Development notes: Ascension Act is the creator's first game, designed to test ideas in difficult puzzle design and to invite player feedback. The developer aims to produce a cohesive experience that can be refined over time, with a focus on learning from player input to expand mechanics and levels in future updates.
