Neat Particles is a small sandbox that invites you to watch, generate, and experiment with neat particle patterns and behaviors. It emphasizes a simple idea: complex visuals emerge from combining straightforward rules.

At its core, the game builds particle motion by mixing and randomizing a set of basic modifiers. Each modifier adds a tiny rule, and when several rules interact, they produce rich, evolving patterns. The result feels alive because the rules are both simple and subtly interconnected.

One concrete example is a modifier like "turn by X degrees every Y time." Used alone, such a rule already hints at familiar shapes: 90-degree turns sketch a square; larger time gaps yield bigger squares; rapid, small turns tend toward circular arcs. If particles accelerate over time, the square can widen and morph into a spiral, showing how speed changes transform structure.

By default, the system starts with eight modifiers chosen randomly from a pool of more than thirty, and the exact number of active modifiers is itself randomized. This design choice creates a huge variety of visuals and feels different each time you run the game, from subtle motions to striking, large-scale patterns.
