The Long Way Down

The Long Way Down is a first‑person digging adventure where you carve tunnels in real time and push your way through the planet’s depths. You start with a modest rig and a single objective: mine, refine, upgrade, and survive your descent into the earth. You will mine valuable minerals and sell your haul to fund upgrades, drill for oil and refine it into fuel to keep your operation running, and explore as you go. Along the way you can uncover rare fossils, buried treasures, and other one‑off artifacts that enrich the journey. Beneath the surface, demons lurk and will try to stop you, making every decision crucial as you descend further into the unknown.

Core Gameplay

• Dig anywhere: carve tunnels and chambers in real time, shaping your own underground labyrinth.
• Mine and sell: extract valuable minerals and trade them for money to fund upgrades and progress.
• Drill for oil and refine into fuel: locate oil pockets, refine fuel, and use it to power extended operations as you push deeper.
• Unique items: discover fossils, treasures, and unusual artifacts hidden within the ground, each with its own story.
• Upgrade your rig: improve drilling, speed, efficiency, and other systems to reach greater depths more reliably.
• Fight to keep going: the deeper you go, the more demons and threats you’ll encounter, demanding careful planning and timing.

Progression and challenge: upgrades unlock new capabilities that let you dig faster, go further, and endure tougher encounters. Each descent brings richer resources and more dangerous adversaries, creating a balance between exploration, resource management, and combat play. Your ultimate mission remains clear: drill all the way through the Earth and emerge on the other side in China.

Goal: complete the mission by drilling from the surface straight through to the opposite side of the planet, surfacing in China, and proving you can survive the plunge from darkness to daylight once again.
