Fear, But Stupid description
Fear, But Stupid is a first-person horror experience that blends tense atmosphere with dark humor and moments of absurdity. Each level unfolds as its own compact story, mixing parodies with creepy environments and unpredictable twists to keep you off balance.
Your goal is simple: escape. To do so, you must explore dark locations, hunt for keys, solve puzzles, uncover clues, and open safes while trying to stay ahead of threats. There are no weapons, so stealth, precise movement, and careful use of your flashlight are essential to survival.
Enemies can hear your footsteps and actions, making noise management a core mechanic. Running, interacting with objects, or missteps can draw dangerous attention, forcing you to think through every action you take.
The tone shifts across levels: some stages lean into playful parodies of famous characters, cartoons, or exaggerated personalities, while others dive into serious horror and pure tension. These tonal changes keep the experience fresh and unpredictable.
Progression unlocks new levels and bonus stages, inviting you to revisit sections with fresh challenges. Clues such as notes and papers can appear in random locations, sometimes containing passwords for safes or hints toward hidden objectives—encouraging exploration and increasing replayability.
Core features include:
- First-person horror gameplay that emphasizes atmosphere and tension
- Puzzle solving, exploration, and item hunting (keys, safes, hidden clues)
- Enemies that hunt you, with noise as a critical factor
- Strategic flashlight usage in dark environments
- Multiple short levels with distinct stories and themes
- Dark humor balanced with serious horror and gore elements
- PS2-inspired visual style and a chilling horror soundtrack
Current version: Alpha. Estimated playtime: around 40 minutes.
