Sticky Sticky: Surplus Protocol description
Sticky Sticky: Surplus Protocol
In a near-future where humanity has vanished, artificial intelligence maintains a simulated version of life. You are not human, but slime-mold–derived lifeforms inhabiting abandoned toys and household objects, wandering through enclosed, familiar spaces that feel both comforting and deeply unsettling. Your goal is not to defeat enemies, but to endure, to spread a living network, and to survive within a system that is constantly breaking down—all while searching for a chance to restore organic life.
Core Gameplay
- Core Expansion System: Players plant a single shared Core and continuously inject energy to spread the network outward. Once energy is committed, it cannot be recovered. Move too far, and expansion stops. Every decision is irreversible.
- Resource-as-Time Pressure: Food and resources are limited. Expansion consumes energy, and delays, mistakes, or overextension push the system toward collapse.
- Random Builds & System Mutation: Random items alter personal abilities, Core behavior, and even the rules of expansion. Builds are more than power—they rewrite how the game functions.
Co-op Experience
- Cooperation-Driven Roguelike: All players share critical resources and expansion progress. A single choice can save the team or doom it entirely.
- No Fixed Roles, No Solo Play: Players may explore, supply energy, scout, or perform emergency recovery, but roles are not optional and no one can survive alone.
Atmosphere & Tone
- Uncanny Familiarity: Clean living rooms and AI-maintained domestic spaces feel normal at first, then increasingly strange.
- Psychological Pressure Over Combat: Fear stems from system imbalance, resource depletion, and irreversible decisions rather than traditional foes.
Key Features
- Co-op roguelike with irreversible runs
- Unique Core / Expansion / Energy systems
- Highly randomized items and build paths
- Emphasis on decision pressure and teamwork over mechanical skill
- Light psychological horror, not jump-scare focused
If you enjoy system-driven gameplay, irreversible choices, and cooperative tension set within a quiet, uncanny world, Sticky Sticky: Surplus Protocol offers a distinctive experience beyond traditional action or horror titles.
