MageQuit Dungeons is a 1-4 player cooperative roguelike where you battle across islands of ever-changing creatures. Shape your own growth, counter dangerous enemy combinations, and raise pets to support your party as procedurally generated terrain collapses around you. Each run challenges you to adapt, survive, and prevent the enemy’s evolving power from overwhelming your team.
Gameplay is built on a cycle of discovery and planning. You’ll modify your abilities, manage resources, and decide when to press your advantage or pull back to regroup. The world itself is unstable: islands rise and fall, requiring careful positioning and timed decisions to stay ahead of threats and keep your last parcel of land intact.
- Islands and survival: Each journey unfolds across procedurally generated, destructible islands that host a rotating mix of enemies and twists. Boss encounters at the end of each island push your team to coordinate, adapt, and endure until you preserve the land.
- Evolving adversaries: Enemies evolve through new types and upgrades during a run. Left unchecked, these upgrades can combine into powerful synergies. You can try to block specific evolutions or embrace them if your build can exploit the resulting opportunities.
- Strategic combat: Combat rewards anticipation, positioning, and committed timing. Attacks are clearly telegraphed, so awareness and planning matter more than reflexive dodges—your team’s ability to read threats determines success.
- Pets and progression: Pets fight alongside your party and can be upgraded over the course of a run. They add a flexible layer of strategy, letting you tailor your approach to the evolving threats and terrain.
- Co-op teamwork: Play solo or with up to three allies to share roles, cover weaknesses, and execute combined tactics. Cooperation is essential to outlast shifting enemy power and collapsing environments.
