HYPHAE is a roguelike tower-defense game where your choices shape a living network. Place down tiles with Tetris-like shapes to grow your reach from a central core, consume resources, and slowly reveal the fog that hides the map. Your mission is to locate and extract powerful artifacts while fending off waves of enemies that lurk beyond the mist.

Key ideas

• Network growth: Drop tetromino-inspired tiles to extend your influence. Each placement expands your corridors, enabling new routes, towers, and resource generation.
• Fog and danger: The fog conceals threats. The farther you travel from your core, the tougher the adversaries become. Manage distance and risk with every placement.
• Rifts on the ground: Strange rifts disrupt terrain and movements, challenging your layout and forcing adaptive strategy.
• Artifacts and power: Uncover artifacts scattered across the map. Each artifact holds ancient power and, when revealed, may awaken a formidable artifact boss.
• Extraction rewards: Locate artifacts and extract their power to gain boons that aid growth, exploration, and combat.
• Defensive towers: Strategically place towers to defend your network against critters and other threats. Some terrain allows unlocking special towers to tilt battles in your favor.
• Artifact bosses: Artifacts do not come easy. Uncovering them can trigger epic boss encounters that test your line and tactics.

Progression and adaptation

As the run extends, you gain access to adaption upgrades. These boons let you evolve your strategy—enhancing network growth, resource management, and combat capabilities. Choose upgrades that synergize with your tile layouts and tower builds to survive longer and reach farther.
