Born of the Moon description
Born of the Moon
In Grey Hills, a friend's voice isn't always friendly. Your minibus is trapped by a brutal storm, and the only shelter is the crumbling von Adelstein mansion. The cold outside is the least of your worries—the night hides something far more dangerous.
Born of the Moon is a cooperative horror game for 3–6 players with social deduction at its core. You are not simply survivors; you play a role with your own truth. The Werewolf stalks the group, aiming to make sunrise impossible, while the others race to uncover the mansion’s secrets before it’s too late.
Key mechanics
- Asymmetry & paranoia: Each character has a unique perspective—The Scientist reads hidden signs, The Quiet One can move where the monster struggles, and The Doctor tends to injuries and sanity alike. Trust is scarce and constantly shifting.
- Unpredictable threat: The Werewolf may pretend to be human, sabotaging the group, while Random Events redefine the rules every 7 minutes. Expect a Clean Moon that brings a rare calm or a Blood Moon that amplifies the threat when survival slips away.
Fear, insanity, and choice
Fear manifests through an anxiety meter that distorts perception. As nerves fray, you may experience Fright Effect—voices fade, severing trust at the worst moment—or Hallucinations—enemies where none exist, wasting precious resources on empty space. The line between ally and threat can blur in an instant.
Environmental tactics
The mansion is cramped, and the Werewolf is strong but cumbersome—he can ram through doors and get stuck in tight passages. Use the layout to your advantage: the Trapper can deploy snares, while teammates barricade doors and buy precious seconds to survive until sunrise.
Living lore
Investigate the von Adelstein family’s disappearance by reading diaries, studying distorted portraits, and collecting ritual items. Each note may reveal how to weaken the beast—or how to become one. A shared secret lies within the pages: voices that may guide you or doom you.
Can you separate truth from lie when the night refuses to end and the dawn might never come?
