Agrocracy description
Agrocracy
Build and manage an agricultural enterprise from a handful of mediocre fields to a sprawling operation spanning over 30km². This is a turn-based hardcore management game, not a cozy farming simulator. You don’t drive tractors or roleplay characters—you make decisions, read numbers, manage risk, and live with the consequences.
Inspired by classic tycoons and grand strategy games, Agrocracy treats farming as a fragile system of weather, labor, capital, and time. Set on an old‑school isometric map, you manage time, workers, fields, machines, and crops in pursuit of profit or long‑term achievements—entirely solo. Develop an operation from scratch into a local powerhouse, following a path shaped by your choices rather than scripted events.
You control when turns happen, analyzing the environment at your own pace. A realistic weather model forces strategic infrastructure decisions and tactical crisis management. Crops only grow in suitable conditions, but you can push boundaries by growing plants mismatched to the local climate to test your planning and resilience.
Choose from a wide range of crops that thrive in different climates, but decide how to market your harvest. Sell quickly for a low but reliable price, or take risks by waiting for a better opportunity. Don’t let stock spoil—build cold storage facilities and silos to protect your season’s work.
Time is the most important resource, and workers are your engine. Workers operate machines, and machines require buildings to exist and to store harvested crops. Everything costs money, and liquidity can spell the difference between growth and bankruptcy.
Increase available working time by hiring manual labor. Construct buildings to store crops or house machinery, manage machine wear, schedule repairs, and modernize your fleet. As you grow, expand capacity and refine operations—transforming a small farm into a large-scale agricultural enterprise.
Develop systems that suit your playstyle through a progression tree with unique specialization paths. Invest in field infrastructure to reduce soil degradation or mitigate drought, and, when ready, replace basic field and weather data with hard sensor information. Don’t be afraid to take loans from the bank, but balance ambition with financial credibility.
