VoltHaven description
VoltHaven
VoltHaven is a real-time management simulation of an electric grid. You start from scratch in a village with no energy infrastructure, and your task is to build the backbone of the grid from the ground up.
Construct power sources and utility buildings, connect your first customers, and earn money to expand your network. Progress from makeshift or cheap and obsolete technology to modern power plants, allowing you to connect more customers or reduce operating costs. You can also grow crops or mine resources to boost cash flow while keeping the lights on.
- Power generation covers Thermal, Wind, Solar, Nuclear, and Hydroelectric options, spanning a range from small kilowatt generators to large megawatt plants.
- Customers include individual households, small businesses, and large factories, each shaping demand and grid dynamics.
- Commodities (Diesel, Coal, Wood) are used primarily as fuel, with the ability to produce and trade them to support your grid and economics.
- Weather and seasonality affect availability and production, with renewable output influenced by wind speed, sun elevation, and temperature, including intraday and seasonal variances.
- Adaptation to local conditions and seasonal changes is essential for balancing supply, demand, and costs.
- Play modes include a sandbox by default, plus tutorial and challenge missions to guide and test your strategies.
At the core is an underlying real-time power-flow simulation that calculates grid dynamics as it evolves. Each customer follows a time-based energy profile, so demand patterns are accurate and varied. The system models renewable generation with dependency on environmental factors, ensuring your decisions have immediate and tangible consequences on reliability and cost.
With VoltHaven you’ll plan, build, and optimize a growing electric network—balancing investment, efficiency, and reliability to keep every light on in a living, breathing grid.
