Hamster Ball: Hana’s Challenge

You are Hana’s newest pet hamster, welcomed home to a playful, escalating puzzle race. Your objective is to knock enemy hamster balls off the platform and advance through 12 progressively tougher levels. Each level presents a larger arena and more enemies to defeat before the next unlock. Interspersed with light visual novel scenes, the journey mixes arcade action with cute storytelling as you strive to become Hana’s favorite hamster.

Enemies

• Standard (Orange) — identical physics to the player hamster; predictable and steady.
• Floating (Red) — gravity-defying ball powered by a mercury vortex engine; when pushed off, it bobs and climbs back onto the platform. You can disable its anti-gravity by striking the ball twice, causing the power source to explode.
• Fast (Yellow) — accelerated movement with quick direction changes; high-speed impacts can be fatal, requiring sharp reactions.
• Heavy (Green) — large mass makes it tough to push; you’ll need to maneuver smartly to nudge it off the edge.

Power-Ups

Sunflower Seed Power Up — lasts 6 seconds and enhances your impact force. Instead of equal and opposite reactions, you exert a stronger push on the enemy while you experience normal contact. Enemies fly away from the direction of impact, helpful when surrounded by multiple foes.

Progression & Levels

The game features 12 levels, each unlocking the next with success. Level 1 starts on a small rectangular platform with the fewest enemies; later levels present larger arenas and require more enemies to unlock the next stage. Each level grants a Steam Achievement when completed. The Levels menu shows a button for every level: unlocked levels are clickable, while locked levels appear at 50% opacity and cannot be selected until unlocked. For new players, press New Game to begin—the Continue option remains disabled until you have progress. Once you’ve unlocked levels, Continue loads the highest level you’ve reached. Re-selecting New Game after unlocking content will return you to Level 1 and replay the opening visual novel sequence for a fresh first-time feel.

The Final Challenge

The last level introduces unique mechanics unlike the first eleven, offering a distinct twist and a stern test of reflexes and strategy. It’s challenging but designed to be conquered with persistence. Completing the game earns Hana’s approval as her favorite hamster!
