Day 22 description

Day 22

StoryOfficer Mike Walsh is on a break from his wife, Eileen, and stuck with a routine assignment: inspect an abandoned barn outside Portland after a cascade of complaints. What should be quiet and boring quickly unsettles him. Sleep slips away, isolation thickens, and stress gnaws at the edges of perception. The world grows unreliable: sounds misfire, details mutate, and the line between reality and paranoia blurs.

Day 22 unfolds across 22 days. Each day you step into the barn and its surroundings, cataloging what you can—until the end of the day arrives. The tension comes not from monsters, but from the subtle, creeping doubt that something fundamental is shifting beneath Walsh’s feet. Is the barn changing, or is his grip on what is true slipping away?

A stark mechanic drives the experience: at the close of each day you must take a pill. White means you believe nothing was wrong; Black means you noticed something off. Take the right pill and you move forward. Take the wrong pill, and the day restarts. The choice is brief, but its consequences echo through the days that follow.

This is a compact, high-tension horror experience that leans into atmosphere, uncertainty, and the unpredictability of Walsh’s psyche. The woods outside Portland become a mirror for his unraveling, and the truth waiting in the shadows is not just about what happened to the barn—it's about what is happening to him.

Key themes: isolation, fatigue, unreliable perception, cyclical danger, and the moral ambiguity of choice under strain. The more you trust your senses, the deeper you may uncover—and the more the boundary between observer and nightmarish truth may blur.

As the days repeat and the mystery deepens, you’ll uncover the truth of the woods surrounding Portland and how it relentlessly mutates Walsh, pushing him toward an ending that answers the question of what is real—and what is not.
