Into the Slimy Mines description
Into the Slimy Mines
Into the Slimy Mines blends roguelike progression with tower defense set on a slime‑infested moon. You work for Ironkilt Intergalactic Industries, crash your mining vessel, and must rescue your crew while returning ore-filled cargo. Your mission, and your timing, are everything: push deeper, defend your rig, and beat the Boss to claim the Stout Hammer before a more competent dwarf takes it for himself.
Gameplay sends you on a digestible yet tense climb through six unique mining locations, each offering five increasingly difficult depths. You progress by dragging Dig cards to carve out new tunnels toward missing crewmates, balancing extraction with stalwart defense as slime waves close in.
Three distinct playstyles
Choose from three factions—ANVIL, WARHAMMER and PICKAXE—and tailor your Drill Rig to fit your risk tolerance and the hazards of each location. Your choice affects how you approach digging, resource generation, and defensive setups as you descend.
Weapons of construction
The rig isn’t just armor and drill bits: collect ore for money, deploy drills that unearth valuable resources, lure slime away from critical infrastructure, and power generators to keep the entire rig running deeper into the mines. Strategy comes from how you combine these tools to create effective synergies as you expand your tunnels.
Upgrade and upgrade again
Build to last by stacking identical cards to upgrade your equipment. For example, placing a Level 1 Cannon atop another Level 1 Cannon yields a Level 2 Cannon—the maths checks out, and so do the improvements in firepower and efficiency. This fusion system rewards planning and experimentation as you descend.
Defend the mine
Slimes attack in waves, and you defend with turrets, displacers, and blockades. Gadget cards slow or blast groups of slime and patch up your buildings mid‑wave, giving you crucial breathing room to redeploy resources and restore stability under pressure.
Progression, loot, and escape
Beyond digging and defending, you can buy cards and booster packs to diversify your deck, expand tunnels, and discover powerful combos. The goal is clear: rescue your crew, secure the ore cargo, and exit before the Boss hands over the Stout Hammer to a less capable rival. The deeper you go, the more resources and challenges you unlock in a self‑contained, satisfying loop.
