CardForge — game description

CardForge is a single‑player, turn‑based card strategy game that centers on powerful, editable characters. Every character card can be deeply edited and constructed, and each one has the potential to become the core of a deck. Cards are categorized into four types: role cards, creature cards, building cards, and spell cards. Players don’t merely select a character; they actively shape its attributes and direction, allowing the same character to assume different roles across distinct deck constructions.

The core experience unfolds on two levels of construction. First, you tailor a single character card through its own internal design, unlocking a range of tactical paths. Second, you build overarching deck synergy by combining multiple character cards with other card types. This dual approach encourages varied play styles, so a single character can function as attacker, defender, support, or a unique combo piece depending on how you configure it and integrate it with the rest of your deck.

Combat revolves around thoughtful planning and resource management. The game emphasizes a robust state and state response mechanism, enabling chained effects, reactions, and intricate interactions. A flexible card transformation system supports evolving cards mid‑play, inviting experimentation with synergies and dynamic strategies. The result is a tactical card battle where preparation, timing, and deck design repeatedly reward careful experimentation.

CardForge is designed as a single‑player experience that invites contemplation. Players are encouraged to test diverse building possibilities, refine strategies, and uncover novel interactions without the constraints of multiplayer balancing. Each session offers new combinations to discover, pushing you to rethink how you assemble your character and deck for maximum impact.

Story and characters are woven into the core gameplay. Each character card corresponds to an independent short story, and you take on the role of a transcender capable of traversing multidimensional worlds. Across these realms you encounter various figures, forming deep connections and interactions that go beyond traditional romance, expressed in multiple forms. The narrative unfolds around the characters themselves in a nonlinear fashion, adding an extra layer of experience that complements construction and combat.

While CardForge is still in development, the current version focuses on testing the core combat system and the building gameplay loop. You’ll see ongoing improvements to user interface, artwork, and content as the project evolves, with refinements aimed at clarity, accessibility, and depth of interaction.
