Culdcept The First blends deck-building with board-game conquest, inviting you to command a 50-card Book (deck) drawn from a vast library of more than 300 card types. On the world of Bablashca, the Book of Gods drives fate as Cepters clash for control, chasing a prophecy that says the one who wields the Culdcept gains limitless power.

• Offense and defense in one race for land — roll the dice to move across the map, summon creatures from your Book onto landing spaces, and convert lands into your territory. When you place a creature, that space becomes yours and strengthens your position.
• Magic Power and territorial tolls — every time you land on an opponent’s territory you pay Magic Power, but winning battles can seize the land and its tolls for yourself. Gather enough Magic Power and return to the Castle to claim victory.
• Deck and card variety — combat isn’t decided by raw stats alone. Creature abilities, Item Cards, and land or ally bonuses shape outcomes in every skirmish, making a well-tuned Book essential.
• Progression and rewards — after each match you receive a random set of cards based on your ranking. Add them to your Book and refine your tactics for future battles.

The game showcases 180 creature types and a rich library that lets you craft diverse strategies. Land control, timing, and careful use of Spell Cards are as important as the strength of your creatures. Command the battlefield by combining card effects, terrain bonuses, and supportive plays from allies to outmaneuver rivals.

Culdcept The First also introduces convenient refinements to streamline play while preserving the core experience. Core features include:

• Rewind lets you return to a checkpoint and rethink a critical moment.
• Quick Save & Load saves and loads anytime, independent of the main save function.
• Bonus Pack increases reward cards earned at the end of a match (toggleable).
• Reveal Hands can display both players’ hands on-screen for strategic planning (toggleable with automatic layout).
• Language Switching supports Japanese and English, with separate save data per language.
