Anomaly: Haunted Aisle description

Anomaly: Haunted Aisle

You awaken in an endless supermarket corridor where the ordinary can twist into the uncanny. The rules are simple: if you spot an anomaly, turn back; if nothing seems wrong, press forward. Each correct decision carries you deeper into the store—and deeper into a story built from guilt, grief, and a man searching for his lost wife and son.

The world changes with every loop. A bright, daytime shop can become empty; day can fade to night; shelves thin to bare, signs fade, lights dim, and familiar figures disappear—or leave behind traces. With each return, new anomalies surface, weaving memory and loss into the environment itself. This is not haunted by ordinary ghosts, but shaped by what refuses to be forgotten.

There are no on-screen objectives or dialogue trees. The narrative unfurls through environmental detail, repeating figures, subtle shifts in space and time, and the murmurs of TV and radio broadcasts echoing through the aisles. As you progress, you may glimpse the people you’re searching for and, eventually, understand why you’re here.

  • Psychological horror with minimal jump scares that leans on atmosphere and implication rather than gore.
  • Anomaly-spotting gameplay inspired by the tense exploration of The Exit 8.
  • Three escalating acts spread across repeated loops, each deeper and more revealing than the last.
  • Dense, atmospheric environment designed for careful observation and attentive memory.
  • Story-driven anomalies tied to memory, guilt, and forgiveness, culminating in a single emotional ending.

Themes: Liminal spaces, repetition and ritual, guilt, grief, and forgiveness. The danger lies in clinging to what’s unfinished—refusing to let go can trap you within the loop.

Content note: The game explores mature emotional themes. Horror is psychological, built through atmosphere and environmental storytelling rather than graphic content.
