Actual Role Playing description

Actual Role Playing

Dive into a chaotic movie production where a big studio cuts corners on stars and you become the protagonist. Act, fight, and improvise your way through a chaotic production, with your performance shaping the movie’s success—and the investors’ happiness.

  • Co-op action for up to 6 players. Team up and solve the story together in a shared adventure.
  • Device-as-controller. Use your phone, tablet, or any browser-enabled device. Join via URL or scan the lobby QR code.

Create Your Protagonist

Build your hero by choosing a theme, outfit, and colors. Your appearance, abilities, and affinities influence how you approach scenes and battles as the story unfolds.

Story, Script, and Choices

After a brief briefing, you’ll advance toward the main antagonist. A writers’ script guides the session, but you can follow it or go off-script. The way you handle scenarios is decided by collective votes, and your choices shape the consequences and the evolving story.

Character Development

Your personality evolves with events—for better or worse—altering how you interact with teammates and the world. Earn new abilities after combat by selecting a fresh ability and a stat point, based on your theme, weapons, or acquired affinity.

Economy and Items

Encounter shops let you spend zeny to buy weapons, equipment, and usable items. Use these tools to optimize your squad for upcoming challenges.

Turn-Based, Row-Based Combat

The battlefield uses three rows per team. The front line defends the back rows against melee attacks and frontal projectiles, so positioning matters. Each turn lets you pick a main (or basic) ability, optionally with a defensive ability or item. When ready, actions are executed in order of character speed.

Defensive abilities are processed first to heal or shield teammates, followed by offense. Use action points wisely to protect your party and communicate effectively to survive encounters.

Performance and Outcomes

Your performance rating is the final judgment of your star power. Elevate it by following the director’s tasks that highlight your character, or steal the show with bold improvisation. The game emphasizes no RNG criticals or hit chances, delivering a crisp, predictable combat experience.

Actual Role Playing blends improvisation, strategy, and storytelling in a cooperative experience where every decision moves the movie—and the crew—forward.
