Scrapcrawl description

Scrapcrawl

You can no longer stay in the bunker: food supplies are running low, the ventilation system is damaged, and radiation levels are rising every day. Nuclear winter brings bone-deep cold, and you have almost nothing to keep you warm. The surface is a dangerous labyrinth of radioactive ruins—flickering street lamps, collapsed buildings, and storm-worn roads. You must venture outside to scavenge, defend yourself, and endure as the world grows harsher with each passing day.

Scrap is your lifeblood. Explore the wreckage for food, water, and technology, then turn scrap into a forge of resources: metals, electronic parts, plastic, glass, and more. Use these materials to craft complex parts, devices, weapons, armor, gear, consumables, and medicine. Alongside scavenging, you must grow and ration food to sustain long expeditions into toxic zones and frosty nights.

Your base is your sanctuary and your power plant. Build multiple energy sources—solar, wind, and combustion generators—and weave them into a resilient electrical grid with storage batteries. Light, heat, and climate control keep you alive in the cold, while a robust base reduces risk during long surveys. A chemical station lets you purify water and manufacture biofuel, acids, and gunpowder, expanding your crafting options and survival capabilities.

Survival hinges on technology. Radiation penetrates deeper and faster each day, so you must push for new tech, blueprints, and machines. Seek floppy disks scattered across the ruins, recover damaged data, and restore them to reveal recipes. Load the recovered disks into the auto-crafter to assemble progressively advanced devices and equipment, accelerating your progress and giving you new tools for exploration and defense.

Gear comes with a twist: you can merge items to fit multiple functions into a single slot. This space-efficient system lets you create hybrids that boost warmth, protection, and radiation resistance without crowding your inventory. For example, combine heated thermal underwear with a bulletproof vest, then fuse them with a radiation suit to forge powerful armor that all but replaces three separate pieces. Craft, optimize, and merge to tailor your kit for tougher zones, longer expeditions, and tighter stashes.
