HeadTrack description
HeadTrack
HeadTrack turns your smartphone into a head-tracking device for PC games. It supports FreeTrack protocol and can connect directly with Opentrack, enabling real-time head movement and rotation data to be fed into compatible games without any extra hardware.
Inputs
- HeadTrack (recommended) on Android or iOS, using either Gyroscope, Camera, or AirPods/Beats as input.
- Gyroscope input offers very low latency for quick head movements.
- Camera input provides full 6DoF tracking.
- AirPods / Beats can serve as a head-tracking input when connected to iOS or macOS.
- UDP / Opentrack App to connect any app compatible with Opentrack.
- Live Link App another iOS option with camera input.
Outputs
- FreeTrack (recommended) sends tracking data to Windows games that support FreeTrack.
- Works on Linux/macOS by feeding FreeTrack data to Windows games under Wine, Proton, CrossOver, or Parallels.
- UDP / Opentrack App to route data into Opentrack on the PC.
- Mouse (Windows only) for games that accept a mouse input but don’t support head tracking directly.
- FlightGear plugin for head-tracking integration.
- X-Plane plugin support (including X-Camera) for newer versions.
Compatibility & Games
Most games that support head tracking will work with HeadTrack. Verified examples include Arma 3, BeamNG.drive, FlightGear, and X-Plane 12. In-game settings often reveal a FreeTrack or similar input option that enables HeadTrack data.
What You Get
