Styxton — game description

Styxton is a nonlinear black-and-white visual novel anchored in horror. Set in 2018, a small town is gripped by fear as over two weeks three young women are brutally murdered. Each victim bears the same mysterious brand and has had her tongue cut out. The investigation stalls and dread becomes part of daily life. You are the living proof of the killer’s reach, the one person who survived.

You play as Artem, a student dreams of making films and starting a new life, now erased by personal tragedy that claimed his father and left him stranded in this backwater town. His world has turned colorless due to achromatopsia, and after the attack on the bankside near the Styx River, his memory of that night is wiped clean. You are the sole surviving witness, compelled to uncover the truth by piecing together fragmented memories while navigating a distorted perception of reality.

The investigation unfolds through Artem’s perspective in a nonlinear framework. Your choices steer the course of the mystery, shaping who you trust, which leads you down different paths and alters the outcome. To uncover what happened, you must rely on fragments of the night, cryptic clues, and the uneasy certainty that memory may be unreliable. Each decision influences relationships, what information surfaces, and whether the mystery is ever fully resolved.

Styxton combines stark, monochrome visuals with a tense atmosphere and deliberate pacing to create a claustrophobic mood. The narrative invites you to question what is real, what is remembered, and what lurks behind the town’s quiet streets. It challenges you to confront trauma, memory, and the possibility that the killer may be more than a man—or more than a memory that refuses to stay buried.
