Version Control is an experimental, narrative-driven VR experience that drops you into an unfinished game as a playtester. You are guided by a charismatic developer who may—or may not—still be in command of his own creation. The boundary between designer and wreckage blurs as you explore genre-shifting environments that blend physics-driven puzzles, self-aware comedy, a relaxing resort vibe, thrilling VR combat, corporate training simulations, and creeping psychological horror. All of it is built on a consistent, fully interactive VR foundation where everything follows the same rules—until something breaks.

A Charismatic Narrator leads the way: the developer himself mentors you as you test mechanics and probe broken features. He adapts in real time, taking notes, rebuilding, rethinking, and doing everything he can to turn this unfinished project into the most definitive VR game ever—with your help.

Full VR Interaction means every element is physics-based. Grab, throw, wedge, jam, exploit, or do things the designer never planned. Objects obey realistic responses, and your curiosity pushes you to discover new possibilities within the rules. The world rewards invention as you carve your own path through the game’s evolving toolkit.

Explore the perimeters of the project with Go Out of Bounds moments: unfinished spaces, discarded mechanics, and places you were never meant to see. The experience invites you to witness the process of iteration, to feel the tension between ambition and constraint, and to help shape what comes next by how you interact with the broken fragments around you.

Version Control is the sequel to the award-winning 2024 BONEJAM mod of the same name, returning with a fresh storyline set in the same universe. It expands on experimental physics, deepens the narrative focus, and amplifies the self-aware, comedic narration that guides you through the chaos.
