Bunker Rats description

Overview

Bunker Rats is a co‑op PvPvE extraction game set entirely underground. There is no surface—maybe there was once, but that memory is long gone. You live in a bunker, sharing a fortified home with your crew, complete with a crafting bench, an armory locker, and a mood that says nobody has seen the sun in ages.

Playfield

You and up to two other teams enter shared bunker complexes where everyone wants the same loot. It’s competitive dumpster diving inside a concrete labyrinth, and every player is armed. The stakes are high as teams race to grab anything of value before the complex concedes to entropy.

Combat

There are no guns. Combat is melee only. Pick from sledgehammers, machetes, crowbars, a sickle, or even a stale baguette—whatever you can find or craft. Every fight happens at arm’s length in tight hallways where you can hear the other person breathing. The moment you sprint around a corner with a improvised weapon, you know you’re in for a brutal, intimate contest for loot.

Hazards and Environment

The bunkers fight back. Gas leaks fill corridors with a cloudy fog. Busted electrical panels arc across doorways. The longer you linger looting, the more the complex deteriorates. Escalating hazards politely beg you to leave, then aggressively push you toward the exit. Every escape becomes a tense countdown as the environment itself conspires against you.

Loot, Death, and Persistence

If you die, everything you’re carrying drops on the floor for someone else to claim. Your money survives in a pocket you can’t reach, because apparently currency outlives collapse. Loot is a shared currency of risk and reward, and fate can swing in an instant as other teams converge on your stash.

Crafting and Progression

Turn junk into slightly better junk. Craft new tools, items, and upgrades by combining found components. Level up to unlock recipes and experiment with improvised gear—tape nails to a baseball bat and call it an upgrade. The progression system rewards creativity and scavenging over raw firepower.

Extraction Loop

Extraction is the core rhythm: get in, loot everything that isn’t bolted down, and get out. Die and your stuff becomes someone else’s trophy. Surviving the run hinges on quick decisions, smart looting, and timing your exodus before the bunker’s chaos consumes you.

Atmosphere

There is no sky, no sun, no hopeful horizon. Every raid unfolds underground in claustrophobic corridors and cramped rooms. The setting, the threat of other teams, and the ever‑present hazards fuse into a relentless, tense experience that tests nerves as much as skill in Bunker Rats.
