Lacustris - The War over Water

You awaken on the dock of a floating village, adrift on a vast lake with no memory of who you are. People recognize you by the marks of a name you don’t remember, calling you “the blacksmith,” “the builder,” “the warlord.” As you search for identity, you uncover a war for power in which you may be the architect.

Lacustris is an innovative, realistic point-and-click adventure set in the Bronze Age. Two major chapters guide your journey: the chapters are self-contained, yet the truth—however many truths there are—will emerge at the end of the adventure. You must confront your inner self, evolve your abilities, and piece together a world torn by conflict.

Gameplay emphasizes intuitive, classic point-and-click mechanics, with ingenious puzzles and meaningful interactions. Crafting, structured dialogues, puzzles, and minigames unlock hidden sections as you explore. Your choices shape the narrative, influencing encounters and outcomes along the way.

Visually, Lacustris presents evocative 3D environments rebuilt with historical accuracy, bringing alpine pile-dwelling villages and Bronze Age settings to life. The atmosphere blends natural beauty with a sense of danger, as you traverse a dark fortress, caverns and tunnels, and a forest at the island’s center, where a mysterious population and a sibyl await your fate.

The story unfolds through ambling dialogue, crafted interactions, and discoveries that reveal the layers of a war you may have helped shape. The journey culminates in a revelation that alters your understanding of who you are and what the war has become.

A working demo, approximately two-thirds of the final game (the first chapter), is available, showcasing the core experience while some features—animations, cutscenes, and dual-language voice acting—are still in development. Lacustris remains in active development, progressing toward a complete, feature-rich adventure.

Built by 3ZGAMES, a unique indie studio born within an Italian university, Lacustris is their second project, continuing a tradition of thoughtful, narrative-driven games crafted with collaboration and passion.
