Legend of the Master Baiter Origins: Gills Gone Wild

When your grandfather falls gravely ill, a whispered legend from Megamisawa Village speaks of a fishgirl guardian spirit with the power to heal any wound. You join forces with Gyoin-san, a seasoned angler who teaches you the ropes of fishing, and set off on a perilous ascent along the Megami River toward Hakuro Falls, where the guardian awaits. Your quest isn’t just about luck with the rod—it's about skill, timing, and steely perseverance as you push upstream to reel in a myth.

As you travel, you’ll discover and catch a wide array of fish, each battle demanding precise timing and strategic decisions. The encounters grow more intense as you navigate the river, face dangerous wildlife, and prove your mettle. The path isn’t a relaxing voyage; it’s a challenge designed to test Megamisawa’s future protector, and every victory brings you closer to the guardian spirit.

Along the way you’ll help the villagers, complete tasks, and unlock new areas that open the map even wider. Your progress is tied to the people of Megamisawa, whose lives improve as you earn your standing. It’s a race against time and danger, culminating in the moment you finally face the guardian herself and attempt to reel her in.

The journey also features dramatic clashes with formidable opponents, including the legendary Oni Kabuto, as you test your strength and control. In addition to the main quest, you can sharpen your fame by winning the yearly sweetfish catching tournament, cementing your status as Megamisawa’s strongest angler and earning a place among the village’s living legends.

If you ever need a moment of calm, your catches shine in a personal aquarium—a showcase of the diverse fish you’ve tamed along the way. Legend, danger, and triumph blend in this epic fishing saga, where every cast could heal a life, and every fish could be the key to unlocking the Guardian’s return.
