Keepwright description

Keepwright — Description

Keepwright is a turn-based card strategy game that blends deck-building, base-building, and tower defense. Starting from an empty wilderness, you place Struct cards on a grid to establish your stronghold. Each building adds unique Action cards to your deck, growing your resource-gathering and combat options—build, cycle, and fight your way to victory.

  • Deck grows with your buildings — Placing a Struct adds that building’s Action cards. Farms yield Harvest (food), Barracks yield Strike (attack), and more structures multiply your capabilities as you expand.
  • Tower and wall synergy — Towers automatically attack enemies each turn. Place walls adjacent to towers to extend their range and boost damage, making placement a key part of your defense.
  • Adjacent bonuses — Spatial relationships matter: position a Smithy next to Barracks to boost the damage of Barracks’ attack cards.
  • Four unique supporters — Choose from Roxy, Ciel, Fenris, or Misty. Each brings a distinct building, starter deck, and strategic tendencies for varied playthroughs.
  • Shop, events, and makeshift buys — Spend Gold to acquire Struct and Action cards at the shop. Random events present choices to gain resources, add cards, encounter enemies, and more. If you have no attack cards in hand, you can spend resources for makeshift weapons or shields to turn the tide.
  • Boss preview and territory bonuses — The boss’s next action is shown in the UI, letting you plan defenses or focused strikes. Expanding territory unlocks bonuses like shops, resources, extra card draws, and fortifications—while ambushes loom in the wild.

Gameplay flow revolves around drawing cards at the start of each turn while towers attack automatically and building abilities trigger during Turn Start. In the Player Action phase, spend limited Action Points to play Action cards for gathering resources, attacking with Strike, or purchasing cards. Once per turn, place a Struct from your hand to construct a building, which adds new Action cards to your deck. Manage four resources—Food, Wood, Stone, and Gold—to cover costs and land expansion. Build a defensive network of towers and walls while strengthening your deck for the next boss encounter. Defeating enemies yields Treasure, offering choices to increase base max HP, gain a new card, or collect Gold. Defeating a boss fully restores base HP and expands the map for further exploration.

Supporters’ playstyles shape every run. Roxy emphasizes steady defense and Holy-card synergy; Ciel focuses on impregnable fortifications with abundant starting resources; Fenris brings rapid, explosive bursts via mercenary units and high starting Gold; Misty stacks debuffs to slowly grind down foes. Each run demands a different approach and keeps the strategy fresh.
