Blackroots

Blackroots is a cooperative fantasy horror game where you can team up with friends or face a growing darkness on your own. Your mission is to resist Ul'vorran, corrupting roots and nether forces that seep into the world. Purge lingering corruption, break unfinished pacts, or dive into Story Mode to uncover lore, survive the night, and strengthen your characters as you progress.

Story Mode

In Story Mode, follow the legacy of the Obscura, a faction sworn to fight in the shadows so others may live in the light. Learn how forbidden knowledge and a choice to bind with Ul'vorran shaped a world of looming danger. The tale unfolds through atmospheric encounters, discoveries, and choices that ripple through the darkness.

Purge Mode

Purge Mode centers on breaking unfinished pacts before they fully take hold. Navigate treacherous environments, manage resources, and outsmart the creeping influence as you strive to sever the roots that spread Ul'vorran's power.

Backstory

A long-ago order protected people from dark forces using forbidden knowledge. Some seekers sought greater power by making a pact with Ul'vorran beneath the oldest tree. Those who resisted formed the Obscura, a dedicated order who fight in shadows to shield the living. Ul'vorran spreads through pacts, causing black roots to invade land and life.
