Panic of the Apes is a fast-paced party game for 1–4 players where you compete to collect the most bananas before a volcanic eruption ends the round. Grab bananas, knock out rivals to steal theirs, and deploy power-ups as you dodge environmental hazards. The arena heats up as lava balls begin to fall, and the winner earns the crown as King Chimp by taking three rounds first.
Gameplay Core
Each match is a best-of-three affair with rounds lasting 2–3 minutes. Bananas appear by shaking trees, dropping from defeated foes, or being snatched from rivals. Combat revolves around throwing bananas to KO opponents, using melee to deflect projectiles, and performing a dodge roll for brief invulnerability and deflection capability.
Power-ups hide inside chests: shields protect you, keys unlock locked chests, and extra bananas boost your score. Locked chests contain more potent effects that can tilt the balance. Keep an eye on the environment—lava hazards surge late in each round, forcing a mad dash to the safe zone while preventing others from doing the same.
Modes & Play
Local multiplayer supports 2–4 players in split-screen on a single TV. Online multiplayer is available through Steam Remote Play, letting you host or join matches with friends. CPU opponents can be added to any arrangement, with customizable difficulty for 1–4 players.
