Story

In a remote Eastern European village, an ancient castle houses a sealed demon. When the seal breaks, demonic forces spill into the land and terrorize nearby towns. The villagers turn to the Temple Order for salvation. You are an elite demon-killing assassin, sent by the Order to destroy the demon and end the rise of darkness. The journey unfolds across more than ten stages, with an alternate route offering a different path to confront the demon lord.

Gameplay & Combat

VampireBlaze is a classic platformer built around precise movement and weapon-based combat. You can navigate ladders, stairs, and treacherous platforms while facing a variety of foes. The core controls focus on walking, guarding, dodging, jumping, and melee or ranged attacks. The guard system adapts to the weapon you wield and can block incoming red-glowing projectiles, draining your Guard Gauge. Attacks are performed in a neutral stance, with special options unlocked by weapon specifics.

Key combat maneuvers include:

• Normal attacks and a special throw-like attack performed with Up + Attack (consumes Crystals).
• Jump + Down + Attack to perform a downward strike with certain weapons.
• Attack + Jump to cancel weapon pickups while you grab a new weapon.

Hidden throughout the levels are six demon orbs called “vampireblaze.” Collecting them fuels your progression and unlocks new capabilities.

Difficulty & Modes

Easy Mode reduces the chaos by removing knockback from enemy attacks, giving you a gentler route to learn timing and moves. In Easy Mode you can even recover life with the E key, making the challenge approachable at your own pace.

Characters

The protagonist is a professional from the knight order—versatile with multiple weapons, including hand-to-hand combat, knives, and crossbows. This skilled demon-hunter excels at adapting to different combat styles, offering a satisfying blend of melee and ranged options as you face the demonic threat.

Release & Platform

Originally released in 2006 as a Japan-only fan game inspired by Akumajo Dracula, VampireBlaze returns on Steam for players worldwide. The Steam release has been tested to run on Windows 11, bringing a classic, love-letter-to-pixel-drenched action to modern systems.
