Peppermint Academy description

Peppermint Academy is a cozy western bara visual novel with RPG-style combat, letting you mix-and-match a diverse party and customize your team.

Set in a strange school that brings together humans, demons, and angels from many worlds, the academy is colorful and a little chaotic. Behind the cute art and fantasy setting, the game centers on relationships, emotional baggage, and learning how to connect with people who aren’t perfect — including yourself.

Created by solo developer and artist Neptune, with background art by Azzedar and CG art by Ctreuse, Peppermint Academy focuses on characters who feel human. You’ll explore stories about faith and grief, sexuality and identity, masculinity and expectations, and the challenges of parenting, loneliness, or starting over. Some characters are loud, others awkward or guarded; you don’t have to like everyone, but there’s room to find someone who feels right to you.

Romance options include Rick, Dimitri, and Jet, with two more potential romances (the angel Pryce and the demon Momozon) if stretch goals are reached.

The combat system is approachable yet satisfying: a turn-based setup built around an eight-element wheel that counters in a simple chain, with healing, summoning, and hand-to-hand support roles. You don’t need to memorize charts — strengths and weaknesses feel intuitive as you play. Before each mission you can swap party members, tailoring your strategy without being punished for early choices. Outfits and gear can take damage in battles, providing visual feedback and a little extra risk in tougher fights.

The story unfolds across 12 themed pocket worlds, whimsical locations where reality shifts and each area has its own vibe, enemies, and cast. Pocket worlds include a Haunted Toy Store, a Western farm, Gym Beach, Royal Tea Court, Valhalla Mountains, Voodoo Park, Museum of Memories, the Chess Temple, Hero City, Demon Onsen, Honey Casino, Magical Circus, and more. Alongside the main plot, these worlds offer charming side stories and lead toward multiple endings.

Progression is clear and rewarding: defeat foes and complete missions to earn loot and experience, which you spend to craft items and potions and unlock new abilities. Your main character also grows, gaining fresh customization options and powerful skills. There are about 30 recruitable characters, many outfits to mix and match, and a fully customizable dialogue sprite for the lead.

Collect nearly 100 unique creatures to act as familiars, each tied to a pocket world theme and adding personality to exploration and combat. They enrich the world without turning exploration into grind, offering tangible ways to strengthen your party.

Peppermint Academy is designed for players who want NSFW content that still respects character and story, cozy low-pressure gameplay, and meaningful romance with room for imperfect people to grow. If you crave choice, character-driven storytelling, and a complete game you can finish in one sitting, this title is for you.
