HUA-Z description
HUA-Z
HUA-Z is a cooperative zombie wave survival game conceived as a hands‑on learning project by a 15‑year‑old student using Unreal Engine 4. The project uses a Marketplace template to explore core gameplay, networking, and teamwork in a compact, approachable format.
Online play supports up to 32 players, inviting large teams to unite against an ever‑growing undead threat. The core loop centers on surviving wave after wave of zombies through smart cooperation, role selection, and strategic progression across multiple maps.
Players begin by choosing from a roster of characters, each bringing a distinct ability to the team. While specific powers vary, the option encourages coordinating roles to cover weaknesses, share resources, and adapt as waves increase in difficulty.
Strategy and teamwork are essential. Teams must communicate plans for movement, resource sharing, and trap placement to control crowds and protect critical routes. The maps feature traps and environmental mechanisms designed to slow, funnel, or eliminate zombies, turning terrain into a tactical advantage rather than a simple battleground.
Progression is earned by defeating enemies. Points earned in combat can be spent to upgrade weapons and gear, enhancing firepower, durability, and overall survivability as the horde grows stronger across rounds.
Several maps present varied layouts and challenge levels, offering different chokepoints, routes, and trap opportunities. This diversity invites players to rethink strategies, test different approaches, and discover new ways to survive longer under pressure.
HUA-Z emphasizes experimentation and collaboration. The game supports a range of playstyles—from careful defense to assertive assault—allowing teams to adapt to evolving threats and strive for longer survival with each run.
Although described as a practice project, HUA-Z delivers a tangible multiplayer experience focused on teamwork, character choice, environmental interaction, and progression. It serves as a practical platform to learn Unreal Engine 4 mechanics, prototype ideas, and gather feedback from players. If you’re interested in learning, prototyping, or simply testing a zombie‑survival challenge with friends, HUA-Z provides a compact, accessible arena to explore and improve.
Designed as a learning exercise, the project encourages iteration, experimentation, and community feedback, making it a useful entry point for developers and players who want to explore multiplayer design in Unreal Engine 4 without a fully polished release.
