The DEEP Abyss

You receive a cryptic mission: enter the abandoned facility, collect the evidence, and ensure what happened there is never forgotten. The urge to ease the lingering resentment of those left behind echoes through the halls. It might be a joke. It might be dangerous. There is no reward for completing the task, yet something unseen seems to steer your steps as you wake inside the facility.

The deeper you go and the more evidence you uncover, the more the abyss fights back. It claws at you, threatening to swallow your sanity and your resolve. Your only weapon against the closing darkness is a flashbang—an imperfect tool to buy time, reveal hidden truths, and push back just enough to see another fragment of the story.

Gameplay

• Move with WASD, interact with E, and switch flashbang modes with F.
• Throw the flashbang using G or the right mouse button, then check your inventory with R.
• Pause the game anytime with Esc to assess the next move.
• Search the facility to collect evidence and uncover the fate of those left behind.
• The more evidence you find, the deeper you descend into the abyss, and the faster the threat closes in.

Atmosphere & Tech

This experience is built in Unreal Engine 5 and represents the developer’s first release. It blends tight survival pacing with a moody, claustrophobic environment. The design emphasizes atmosphere over spectacle, inviting you to notice every sound, shadow, and whisper of the facility.

Notes

There is no conventional reward or rescue awaiting you—only the relentless pull of the abyss and the drive to uncover the truth buried within. The game reflects a personal project created during school, offering a compact, focused horror experience that leans on mood, mystery, and careful resource management.
