Seeds & Sparks description

Seeds & Sparks

Seeds & Sparks is a pixel art strategy simulation set in a procedurally generated world where you play not as a ruler, but as a benevolent patron spirit guiding life to flourish. The land starts filled with plants and animals, and as it grows so do the whispers of human tribes. When the world becomes sufficiently alive, you choose a tribe and steer its growth through seasons of opportunity, crisis, and conflict until it becomes the last tribe standing on the map.

Indirect control

You rarely issue direct commands: the tribe acts autonomously, while you influence the conditions around it. Even in war, you only set the direction of an attack—the size of the war party depends on the tribe’s current state. The magic lies in shaping medicine, food, and terrain through balance rather than micromanagement.

Your tools

  • Grow flora — accelerate ecosystem growth and recovery, nudging forests, fields, and rivers toward abundance.
  • Add animals — support hunting, grazing, and settlement nutrition by guiding wildlife presence.
  • Use fire — a powerful but risky lever to reshape balance and terrain, opening new land or testing resilience.
  • Guide war — draw an attack route and watch the consequences unfold across the map.

A world that lives on its own

There’s no manual base-building and no tech tree: tribal development happens organically. The shift from tents to more permanent homes, and the overall living standards, emerges from resources, climate, population density, and pressure from rivals. The world breathes with seasons, scarcity, and the rise and fall of tribes.

Balance and play

The game centers on balance: resources, population growth, inter-tribal conflicts, and natural events such as droughts and epidemics. Each choice between development and aggression shifts the world’s momentum. You can adjust simulation speed, save and load runs, and track real-time statistics to study the rise and fall of civilizations.
