Blue Artifact+ is a side-scrolling action game where Fran, a girl awakened deep inside a vast underground research facility, fights to escape using magic. The facility itself becomes the stage—a twisting, mutated dungeon whose every corridor hides danger, puzzles, and clues. Scattered throughout the facility are the Doctor’s records and notes about Fran, and collecting these fragments gradually reveals the world’s history, the facility’s true purpose, and Fran’s elusive origins.

Core gameplay and challenges

A central mechanic is the management of a limited pool of magical energy. Fran wields a magic tome left by the Doctor, and each action—fighting, evading, or traversing terrain—consumes mana. Success hinges on strategic spell use tailored to the situation: choose the right enchantment to crush a guardian, dodge a deadly trap, or reach a narrow ledge that hides a shortcut.

The world is populated by monsters born from experiments conducted in the lab. They patrol the mutated halls and require thoughtful tactics rather than brute force. Story, records, and progression

Treasure comes in the form of records and documents related to the facility and to Fran herself. Collecting these items fills in the backstory, revealing Fran’s origins, the facility’s hidden objectives, and the role the Doctor plays in her awakening. This Steam edition builds on the original free version by adding new stages, more adversaries, and additional items. New outfits become available as you complete conditions and progress through the collection elements. Costumes offer cosmetic customization while continuing to drive forward the escape narrative.
