God of Chaos is an interactive dark fantasy novel by Brennan Gilpatrick. It is entirely text-based, with 250,000 words and hundreds of choices, without graphics or sound effects, and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.

Once you were known as the Sovereign of Lies, the Master of the Fey, the God of Chaos—an outcast even among gods. An Alchemist ordered your imprisonment in a prison of pure darkness, far from the land of Vildmara. After a millennium, you break free, only to find a world transformed. The Alchemists murdered the other gods, conquered mortal kingdoms, and forced humanity into submission. Undead patrols haunt the streets. Fey are hunted to near-extinction. A sentient machine rules the realm. They even outlawed the name ‘Vildmara’; the land lives under the Iron Shelter now.

Desperate to overturn the tyranny, a druids’ tribe frees you from the void. You are a shapeshifting, curse-slinging, charming deity returned to a land bent by order, where chaos has the power to move mountains.

Choose your destiny: aid the druids in healing the natural world and seek a mystical artifact that can revive the land itself; or regain the trust of your ancient allies the Fey and rally them to your cause; or join the Rustmongers to tear the Iron Shelter down and watch civilization burn.

Create your identity: play as male, female, or nonbinary; and explore romance or friendship with a renegade druid, an anarchist mercenary, or the descendant of your most hated enemy. Shape your form: an infernal imp, a strikingly beautiful human, a shadowy elf, or a devious primate. Your choices define love, power, and allegiance.

Take command of the machine that rules the Iron Shelter, choosing to dismantle it safely or sabotage it to plunge civilization into madness. Show mercy to the descendants of your captors, or subject them to twisted revenge. Hypnotize a masquerade ball, command an undead legion, or ride a Jabberwocky—your feats are limited only by your imagination.
