In FishPond, every fish is born with a 12-trait genome—speed, size, hunger, fertility, color, and more—passed from parents and twisted by mutation. Two fast parents can breed something faster, or something wonderfully strange. Build a living ecosystem rather than a screensaver, stocking your pond with six species each with distinct personalities and behaviors.

Minnows swarm nervously, bass hide near structures and ambush anything wary enough to approach, and crawfish scuttle along the bottom, scavenging what dies. Each fish makes its own decisions—hunting, fleeing, mating, resting—based on what happens around it. Breed with purpose using the Genetic Splicer and Sampler to chase rare genetic variants, from Quickfin speedsters to the elusive Perfect Specimen. Save the best genetics to a library, clone them, splice them, and push your lineage further. More than 50 named variants await discovery in the Trophy Room.

Keep the balance or watch it collapse. Oxygen is finite. Hunger is relentless. Overpopulate and your pond suffocates; neglect scavengers and carcasses pile up. The Harmony system tracks diversity, stability, starvation, and extinction, gating your progression. A thriving pond earns money, unlocks new species, and unlocks powerful tools; a dying one spirals downward fast.

Your pond writes its own music. A real-time 32-bit audio engine lets each species contribute its own instruments—minnows ring with shimmering chimes, basses lay deep predatory lines, and salmon weave flowing pads. As populations rise, the tempo climbs. Switch among orchestral, funk, and electronic modes and hear the ecosystem play itself.
