Myosotis: My Life Is Not Yours to Take description
Myosotis: My Life Is Not Yours to Take
You die at the hands of your ex-boyfriend, Ethan, and the afterlife begins as a quest for truth and closure. Haunted by sorrow, confusion, and anger, you decide to linger near him, hoping to uncover the reasons behind your murder. But the afterlife is crowded with questions—and other ghosts start to orbit Ethan’s world, complicating your pursuit of answers.
This is a story-driven horror-adventure built around a sprawling narrative that clocks in around twenty thousand words and unfolds across two possible endings. Your actions and discoveries shape the tone and outcome, offering a compact but impactful exploration of guilt, memory, and unresolved love.
Unique gameplay centers on a tooltip-based analysis mechanic. Use the tooltip to examine others—and even yourself—revealing motives, relationships, and hidden dynamics. The tool helps you piece together what happened, evaluate alibis, and decide how far you’re willing to go for truth. It’s an investigation through atmosphere, where every observation nudges you toward the next revelation.
Expect a moody, haunting experience with original sprites, soundtrack, and CGs. The game presents intense and unsettling moments, including depictions of death and murder, flashing lights, and a partial jumpscare. It also features a scene where a character kisses a corpse, and there is a subtle romance with a living character—the romance is present but not the main focus.
The project emphasizes crafted visuals and sound: original sprite art and CG art, a dedicated soundtrack, and carefully designed promotional art. The experience is driven by a tight creative team, including Project Lead and Writer Kaye Norra (Try_Froggery), Programmer and Composer Fangsoft, sprite artists Kittyhuggins and Pinklelinkle, Editor Cydewyn, and UI Art by Chiara. Their collaboration delivers a cohesive, intimate, and unnerving journey through the consequences of violence, memory, and unresolved connection.
If you’re drawn to emotionally charged mystery with a paranormal edge and a mechanic that lets you dissect character psychology, Myosotis invites you to search for truth beyond death—while confronting the shadows you carry with you.
