Mineclearer VR description

Mineclearer VR — Immersive Minesweeper in Virtual Reality

Mineclearer VR invites you to step into a minesweeper puzzle delivered from a first‑person VR perspective. Move around the grid with natural locomotion, study the field up close, and use careful deduction to reveal safe tiles while avoiding every mine. The game blends spatial awareness with classic logic, delivering tension as you approach tiles and plan each move in an immersive, physical space.

Core gameplay

  • The grid starts completely unrevealed. Each tile can be empty, contain a mine, or show a number.
  • Revealing an empty tile automatically uncovers all adjacent tiles, widening your view of the field.
  • Revealing a mine ends the game — you lose the run.
  • A numbered tile indicates how many mines are adjacent, including diagonals, serving as clues for your next move.
  • Tiles are revealed by poking them with the Poking Device on your belt, or by stepping onto them as you move.
  • Flags can be placed on unrevealed tiles from the flag bag on your belt to mark suspected mines and avoid accidental reveals.
  • You win by revealing all safe tiles, proving you have correctly solved the minefield.
  • The VR view emphasizes spatial planning: proximity, line of sight, and deliberate pacing influence your safety and speed.
  • Clues update as you reveal, guiding your next moves while you balance exploration with caution.

Game modes

Classic follows the traditional Minesweeper logic but requires you to physically move around the field. You can see clues on cleared tiles, and you must roam the grid to reveal tiles and place flags, blending familiar puzzle rules with immersive locomotion.

Orienteering challenges you with only a handheld map showing the clues. You must orient the map, navigate the minefield, and clear the correct tiles without stepping on a mine, combining map literacy with tactical route planning.

Coop Orienteering adds asymmetrical multiplayer: one player explores the minefield in VR while a second player watches a computer screen displaying the clue map. Clear all correct tiles through clear communication and coordinated actions, avoiding any mine near-misses.
