Overvoid description
Overvoid — dark sci‑fi space action roguelike
Humanity’s reach proved its downfall: Earth lies in ruins and remnants orbit a lone station built from its ashes. You are a starship pilot pulled into an endless cycle of trial and danger, chasing power, loot, and the hidden truth. The full picture only unfolds by your third playthrough.
Core to Overvoid is adaptation. Each run is fundamentally unique: after every fight you pick one of three randomized upgrades, guaranteeing fresh encounters and builds. Loot crates hide weapons, modifiers, and blueprints to unlock new gear. Your hub station serves as the workshop and command center where choices shape your fate.
Construction and combat revolve around six ships, each with a distinct ability—teleportation, energy shield, invisibility, attack reflection, and more—plus six weapon types with primary and alternate attacks. Enhance your vessel with four upgrade modules and weave three elemental strands—fire, ice, and electricity—to counter evolving threats.
Progression unfolds across four sectors, each containing five to six levels. At the end of every sector awaits a powerful boss armed with unique abilities. Difficulty is tiered by three levels, unlocking new stages and endings to deepen the cycle. You begin with two skill trees in the hub, and a third opens as you advance, each offering its own perks to tailor your build.
Across the station you’ll spend discovered blueprints to unlock gear and upgrades, purchase equipment, and activate perks from the skill trees. You can switch ships on the fly, selecting the vessel that best suits your current strategy. Loot from multiple runs also reveals modifiers and additional blueprints, expanding your arsenal and playstyle.
With three mission types—elimination, survival, and defense—the tactics you choose determine survival. Each run’s endings are tied to your choices and the hidden layers of the mystery, culminating in three distinct conclusions. The truth about the cycle and humanity’s fate reveals itself only after you dare to break the loop.
