Okay, Panic description

Okay, Panic

You’ve fled an empire and plunged through a unstable wormhole into a dimension where physics has filed for bankruptcy. Here, crystallized fragments of collapsed spacetime are your currency and salvage, while everything that lives here tries to kill you. Okay Panic is a top‑down space survival roguelite with auto‑targeting weapons, deep build customization, and a lore system that treats exile, weaponized coffee, and the end of civilization with a journalist’s detachment.

In this endless arena, your ship fires automatically. Your job is to survive, maneuver, and harvest resources as waves grow from manageable to statistically improbable. Each stage launches you into a new fight where void entities swarm from hive nodes and your weapons always target the nearest threat. Enemies drop Echo Crystals, XP orbs, shields, and salvage cores. Level up, pick upgrades, squeeze out cores, and keep moving until the timer runs out—or you don’t. The arena compresses over time, leaving nowhere to hide, until a boss roars in with a warning klaxon and a bad attitude.

Eight pilots, eight problems

Each pilot brings unique stats, a passive bonus, and a backstory that explains why they’re here. Examples include:

  • Commander Vex — Balanced ace who stubbornly holds the line.
  • Tech Aria — Engineer specializing in void harvesting and applied thermodynamics.
  • Salvage Kain — Scavenger; if it isn’t bolted down, it’s inventory.
  • Kalahia — Ex‑racing pilot; top speed, fragile but untouchable with reflexes.
  • Infamous Tokk — Mercenary tank; starts with a rail gun and a shield, very slow.
  • Pet-Quart-Clik-Tobah — Four‑armed Xelothian beam specialist; name is approximate due to vocal frequencies.
  • Specimen 38 — Bio‑augmented escapee; a reminder of what the end of the line can look like.
  • “Him” — The whispered legend every fleet has, a pilot so talked about they’re almost a rumor.

Systems that demand your attention

  • Heat Management: Weapons generate heat. Overheat stops fire and different pilots handle heat in unique ways.
  • Emergency Warp: A controlled spacetime tear relocates your ship instantly, granting brief invulnerability as you exist in a suspended moment.
  • Time Dilation: Slow enemies and bullets by warping time, offering tactical respite during tight scrapes.
  • Dynamic Events: Pulsar flares, wormhole surges, debris storms, and AI hacks interrupt runs, increasing in frequency as you push deeper into the void.

Progression and lore

Defeated bosses drop crew members, granting additional powerups, though crews are not immortal. Meta‑progression carries resources across sessions, unlocking new pilots, meta upgrades, and weapon slots as you continue to push. The roster expands from 3 to 8 pilots, expanding your strategic toolbox. More than 70 lore entries unfold through narrative logs that document dimensional exile with the dry cadence of a filed incident report. There are over 50 achievements, including feats like completing a run without taking damage, reaching wave 50, unlocking the Pet‑Quart‑Clik‑Tobah, and defeating the Final Guardian. Expect updates and new content as you chase increasingly consequential upgrades.
