Nightfall Waves is a third‑person tower defense set across a mysterious, explorable archipelago. Reconstruct ancient Beacon crystals to cleanse corrupted islands, but beware: once activated, they draw shadow creatures from hidden rifts that attack every night.

The game blends two core tempos — Day exploration and Night defense — to weave resourceful strategy with dynamic combat as you travel between islands and uncover their secrets.

Day — Exploration & Preparation

• Sail between islands to uncover lore, solve environmental puzzles, and meet curious NPCs who offer aid or trade.
• Gather essential resources, uncover hidden treasures, and use discoveries to fuel upgrades and defenses.
• Plan your layout: construct fortifications around your Beacon, erect turrets, and position defenses to cover every approach.
• Upgrade ships and equipment that travel with you, enabling deeper exploration and stronger on‑island builds.

Night — Strategic Tower Defense

When night falls, shadow creatures surge from sea‑born rifts. A fully charged Beacon is your lifeline: if the beacon endures the assault, the island is cleansed of corruption. Turrets and structures form the backbone of your defense, but you play an active role in support—your attacks are automatic, allowing you to focus on positioning, timing, and tactical decisions rather than precise aiming.

Waves scale with the night, forcing you to adapt: reinforce chokepoints, chain defenses to protect key crystals, and deploy crowd control to slow and separate threats.

Deep Meta Progression

Exploration and combat rewards translate into permanent upgrades across playthroughs. Unlock new structures, abilities, and ship improvements that persist between sessions, elevating your strategic options each run.

Discover and customize weapons to tailor your support role: bows that heal or empower defenses, staves that freeze enemy groups for precise control, and other gear that amplifies your strategic impact. Higher‑tier gear unlocks stronger Beacons, faster cooldowns, and more resilient defenses.
