The Undermall description

The Undermall — Description

Trapped inside a surreal shopping mall, The Undermall challenges your eye for detail. Your goal is to spot differences between visits and earn your freedom. The loop begins outside a goth boutique named Warm Subject. Study its shelves, displays, and layout; memorize where everything sits. When you feel ready, step through the Green Exit to begin the first run. You will find yourself back in front of the store, but the next visit may reveal changes that must be detected.

If you notice any change—missing jewelry, moved items, or a startling alteration—you take the Red Exit, the anomaly door. If there is no difference, you stay through the Green Exit, continuing safely. A wrong call sends you back to Room 0, a safe space where you can re-study the environment. Your objective is precise: rack up 10 consecutive correct identifications to win. There are no audio-only anomalies, so every cue is visual.

Core loop and flow: study, re-enter, observe, decide. Each round tests your memory and attention to detail, gradually raising the stakes as the same storefront reappears with subtle or bold changes. The tension comes from the balance between noticing tiny shifts and not overreacting to false alarms.

Controls and customization: navigate with WASD, sprint with Shift, crouch with Ctrl, jump with Space, and zoom with Right-click. Press Tab for a playful emote. The game offers Low to Ultra graphics presets, a mouse sensitivity slider, and separate music and SFX volumes. A simple Character Customization panel lets you change clothing color and type, with plans to expand options in future updates. A Speed Run Overlay can be enabled anytime to track your pace.

Aiming for balance, The Undermall sits in the medium range. Anomalies range from small, barely noticeable tweaks to more obvious changes or even a jump scare, but there are no audio-only tricks. There is no traditional story mode or dialogue—this experience centers on perception and persistence. A potential one-time cutscene could appear later, but the core loop remains focused on challenge and observation.

Win condition and progression: achieve 10 consecutive correct identifications to win. If you miss, you return to Room 0 to re-study and retry, preserving momentum as you push toward the objective.
