Sisu - the Winter War

It’s the 30th of November, 1939. Soviet forces have invaded Finland, and you step into the boots of Field Marshal Mannerheim to defend the homeland. Will you hold the line and stop the red tide with limited men and resources?

Core gameplay

Sisu blends a turn-based campaign map with real-time battles in a single-player strategy experience. Command your forces across a strategic map to prevent Soviet advances on valuable territories housing resource hubs, while leading tactical engagements on historically inspired battlegrounds.

Resources and logistics

Each action costs fuel, ammunition, and manpower. Supplying your armies between battles is essential, because attrition is your greatest enemy. Control and defend resource hubs to resupply and stay in the fight.

Armies and customization

Teams are composed of 12 squads, from rifles to anti-tank guns and tanks. This roster can be customized to face different threats. Between battle rounds you can tweak your armies as resources permit, preparing for the next engagement or reinforcing an ongoing clash.

Battle dynamics

When two armies meet on the campaign map, an engagement unfolds on a tactical map representing the contested territory (for example, the Raate Road). In these real-time battles you guide your 12 squads to seize or defend key locations while inflicting losses to force a retreat.

Soldier experience

You don’t micromanage every soldier; they act with a mind of their own—taking cover, panicking, or performing heroic actions. Survivors gain experience, enhancing their performance in future battles. Sometimes it’s wiser to avoid a clash and preserve your best units for a decisive fight.

Strategic depth

The battle line redraws with each outcome, continuing the campaign across the map. Your goal is to break the enemy morale before Finnish lines are depleted, balancing aggressive tactics with prudent reserves.
