OCTOPinbs — Firefighting, Deception, and Outwit

OCTOPinbs is an online multiplayer game for 3-10 players where you are randomly assigned to one of two roles: the firefighters (octopuses) who extinguish flames, or the artists (squid) who spread them. Each round pairs competing goals with stealth, strategy, and fast action as you navigate a dynamic game space.

Firefighters work to stamp out fires and protect the scene, while artists aim to fuel the blaze and disrupt the team. Victory hinges on clever play and timely decisions: if you reduce stage incineration to 0% or incapacitate all artists by stuffing them into Octojars, the firefighters secure the mission. Conversely, if incineration climbs to 100% or all firefighters are incapacitated in Octojars, the artists claim success. You can try to blend in with the other side by spraying water to appear helpful while seeking opportunities to spread more fires.

Stay alert as you move through rooms around you, spraying water and watching for suspicious players. The mix of concealment and cooperation creates tense moments where every action could shift the balance of power. A keen eye and quick reflexes are essential as you coordinate with teammates to reach the objective before the opposing side does.

Body and revival mechanics: Damage from players or fires can reduce your HP to zero, causing you to lose the body you are borrowing. Make a beeline for the fire truck to grab a new one and jump back into the fray. This system keeps every encounter high-stakes and fast-paced, demanding careful positioning and timely respawns.

Octojars — identity and risk: Stuff suspicious players into Octojars to reveal their identities. If the helmeted player is an artist (squid), the firefighters win. If an innocent firefighter is stuffed, the firefighting team loses a comrade and must press on with greater caution and coordination.

The Artist's Trump Card: Artists can choose to reveal their true colors. Their location becomes visible to firefighters, but they gain new abilities, greater mobility, and higher HP. When victory seems out of reach, this option lets players go wild and turn the tide, offering a dramatic late-game swing.

Beyond core gameplay, OCTOPinbs provides accessible practice and tutorials in the lobby, easy communication through emotes, and the ability to customize match rules for a tailored experience. Dive into the chaos, outthink your opponents, and decide who finally claims control of the burning stage.
