Hecatomb description
Hecatomb
In this mythic journey, Hades, Lord of the Underworld, has abandoned his throne and death loosens its grip. Orpheus seizes a chance to be reunited with his lost love by reclaiming her from the Afterlife, venturing into a realm where power, fate, and sacrifice collide. The underworld is dangerous, its gates guarded by echoes of memory and hunger, and every step pushes you closer to a choice with devastating consequences.
You move toward the Gates of Hades through a treacherous path filled with hungry monsters, shifting divine will, and delicate bargains with the gods. Your success depends on your wits, your courage, and your willingness to bargain with cosmic powers that demand offerings for every action you take.
Three intertwined pillars define the core gameplay. First, combat against nightmarish foes that test your reflexes and mastery of spells. Second, ritual diplomacy with the gods—offerings earned through deeds, worship, and risk—carefully balancing favor among the Pantheon. Third, the gathering of Followers who lend strength, and the learning of Spells that grant you powers beyond mortal craft. Followers can accompany you, participate in rites, and enhance your chances as you press toward victory.
Offerings are the key currency. Each action generates offerings you can dedicate to the gods you serve, shaping relationships and unlocking new abilities. Those who cast many spells may earn Athena’s favor, opening access to spells unknown and sharper tactics. Those who fight in the name of Hades awaken the dead to rise and fight by your side, turning the field with necromantic might.
Crossing the River Styx is the ultimate test, a reckoning that reveals everything you have sacrificed along the way. The road to the Underworld rewards bold sacrifice and punishes careless ambition, forcing you to weigh love against power, memory against fate.
Hecatomb blends mythic storytelling with strategic ritual. It challenges you to navigate divine politics, wield ancient magic, and harness the dead without losing yourself. Will you guide Orpheus through a perilous underworld to reclaim what you love, or will the shadows swallow your resolve?
