Gene Jackpot is a roguelike deckbuilder where you gamble with your own genetic code. You play as G-00, a gene experiment trying to escape a biotech corporation’s underground lab by weaponizing your DNA. Build a deck of gene cards, trigger mutations with every play, and push toward freedom through survival and strategy.

Core loop: draft and play gene cards to shape your body and powers. A Strength card makes your arm surge with power; a Toxin card stains your skin; an Electric card pushes your nervous system toward overload. Each run reshapes who you are and what you can do, so plan around the evolving toolbox you curate.

Mutation system: mutations happen in real time as you mix cards. A Mutation Gauge tracks your bodily evolution and can reach 100% to evolve into a perfect form—or collapse under the strain. Defeat isn’t the end: every knockdown mutates you again, potentially unlocking bizarre synergies. Losing on purpose is a valid strategy, but three knockouts end the run.

Six attribute synergies fuse a diverse set of genes—Toxin, Fluid, Strength, Bone, Psy, Electric, and Parasite—opening countless mutation paths. A different monster awaits each run, so no two decks or outcomes are the same.

Four playable characters offer unique starter decks and mutation traits, ensuring distinct early strategies. Between runs, the Research Hub delivers NPC dialogue, upgrades, and codex entries that reveal more about the Genesis Project and the hidden truth behind the experiments.

Ascender System and progress: increase difficulty tiers as you clear runs, keeping the challenge fresh. The visuals are crafted through procedural coding, yielding a biopunk aesthetic that evolves with your mutations.

Story and setting: The Genesis Project seeks to push human genetics beyond known limits. G-00 is the lone stable subject among hundreds of failed experiments. Each run uncovers more secrets, the origins of the Original, and what it truly means to escape with your DNA intact.
